xAI’s Grok Bot documentation is clear: every Bot on the same account uses one persistent cloud computer, so they share files, browser sessions, and application logins. The computer is isolated to the account, not to an individual Bot.
That means a login you place on the machine is available to every Bot on the account, a file saved there is visible to every Bot, and command-line credentials work the same way. xAI’s computer guide says not to put a credential on the machine if another Bot should not be able to use it. Each Bot gets its own screen, and several Bots can work at the same time, but those screens are work surfaces rather than separate security boundaries. Installed connectors are account-wide as well.
This is not the August launch story. The product already has a cloud PC with many plugins, and the new question is identity. Grok Bot signs in with a Cursor account; there is not a separate Grok Bot app in Okta or Microsoft Entra ID. The identity documentation covers both providers, and once the Cursor app assignment is widened, members can sign in to company apps from the Bot’s computer.
The computer may pause and ask a person to finish a password, a passkey, or two-factor authentication. The documentation recommends taking over the computer for that step when the login can only be completed in a browser. If you have a plugin or want to automate the login, use what the Bots call a card in chat. A card is a secure secret request that lets the Bot use the credential without seeing the actual password, which is a much better habit than pasting open passwords into chat.
The practical question is who that computer is allowed to sign in as. Businesses in Chandler do not get five private identities by creating five Bots; it gets one shared login with five nameplates (or more if you create them!). That can be a real advantage when you plan for it or a surprise if you do not. Decide how you will use this capability before anyone opens QuickBooks, email, or a patient portal system from the Bot’s browser.
