Anduril Industries and Qualcomm Technologies announced BlueChip on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. BlueChip is a new line of rugged laptops. The first machines are aimed at defense, government, and other high-security users. Anduril says orders open in 2027.
The companies aren't pitching a thin consumer ultraportable. BlueChip is built for hard sites. The prototype uses a coyote-tan shell, a carry handle, and a chassis meant for dust, rain, and rough handling. Qualcomm supplies the Snapdragon X Series processor for general compute, graphics, and on-device AI. Anduril says the laptops are designed in California and assembled in the United States. Circuit boards are planned for Anduril's Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio. Systems will run Windows or Linux.
Supply chain is the point of the launch. Anduril says more than 90 percent of the bill of materials, by procurement cost, comes from the United States and allied countries. The long-term goal is a fully domestic stack. That isn't where the first units sit today. Even so, the companies are treating component origin as a product feature, not a footnote. Buyers who must audit where a machine comes from get a clearer answer than they usually get from a commodity PC.
East Texas businesses that outfit field crews, public-safety teams, or industrial sites already care about this kind of detail. You may never buy a BlueChip. You still want a straight answer when someone asks where a laptop was built, what's inside it, and who can patch it after it lands on a desk. That habit matters for every office that handles customer data or regulated work. A new product line from a defense contractor is a reminder to ask those questions before the next refresh, not after a surprise audit.
