SpaceX is targeting Monday, September 28, 2026, for Starship Flight 14 from Starbase in South Texas, pending regulatory approval. A 75-minute launch window opens at 7:15 a.m. CT. Earlier Starship flights followed intentionally suborbital trajectories. This mission is planned as the vehicle's first flight into Earth orbit.
What matters for East Texas organizations that use Starlink or are evaluating it as backup, is the payload. SpaceX plans to deploy 26 Starlink V3 satellites into the constellation, the first V3 spacecraft intended to enter operational service. According to SpaceX each V3 satellite is designed to add about 1 terabit per second (Tbps) of constellation capacity, or roughly 26 Tbps on this flight which is about ten times the capacity of a single Falcon 9 launch of V2 Mini satellites. Those figures describe network capacity added, not the speed any one office will see. After deployment and on-orbit checkouts, SpaceX says the new satellites should begin serving customers as soon as a few weeks after launch.
The flight profile is a development milestone. Starship is expected to fly near 275 kilometers, complete about six orbits over nearly ten hours, then splash down in the Pacific west of Chile. The Super Heavy booster is targeted for an offshore landing burn in the Gulf. Test-flight schedules change so treat September 28 as a target, not a guarantee.
